Laser Skin Resurfacing

Fractional™ is the latest technology to help decrease sunspots, smooth wrinkles and tighten skin.  It works by delivering light in an array of narrow, focused "microbeams", to create columns of heat within the skin. The heated tissue within the columns starts a natural healing process that forms new, healthy tissue.  Fractional™ treatments are the only method which offers both excellent results and no downtime.  This treatment can be applied to any area of the body.

How does Fractional™ Treatment work?

The Fractional™ handpiece delivers light in an array of narrow, focused “microbeams”, to create columns of heat within the skin. The heated tissue within the columns starts a natural healing process that forms new, healthy tissue. This results in smoothing of acne scars, wrinkles, a decrease in sunspots, and a fresher, more youthful skin tone and texture.

What makes Fractional™ Treatment different from other
Skin Resurfacing methods?

Some skin resurfacing devices, such as CO2 lasers, use the ablative method: removing the epidermis and some of the dermis. While a good result is eventually seen, the drawbacks include red, raw, and unsightly skin, and a risk of infection for several weeks after treatment.

Other devices use the non-ablative method: sending light pulses into the dermis, while leaving the epidermis intact. This allows quick recovery, but when the light pulses don’t penetrate far into the dermis, the change in skin tone and texture is less aggressive.

Some devices require that dye be applied to your skin, which is hard to rinse off afterwards. Our treatment doesn’t require dye or prolonged appointments; treatments are quick and convenient to your schedule.

Are these treatments safe? Are they painful?

By delivering light as individual pulses of microbeams, the skin is protected from overheating that can result from a continuous laser wave used by many other systems. In addition, the handpiece features a built-in cooling of the skin, so you feel only minor discomfort during treatment.

What should I expect after treatment?

You may experience redness, warmth, swelling, or tightness in the treated area, which fades within a few hours of treatment. Generally, you can receive a treatment and go back to work or to other activities without any recovery time.

Because the light pulses are confined to narrow columns in the skin, much of the skin is left unaffected and there is a quick healing process; most people notice positive changes in skin tone and texture within a few days.

A series of treatments at 7 to 14 day intervals may be required to achieve the desired results. At your consultation you will be provided with more information about Fractional™ Treatment and expected outcomes.
